Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor responsible for processing conventional and government loan requests. This role requires adherence to product, underwriting, and state-specific guidelines, as well as investor requirements to ensure the timely and accurate processing of loan applications.
Responsibilities
• Maintain effective communication with all involved parties in a new loan application, including customers, brokers, correspondents, loan officers, and co-workers, to ensure a smooth and positive application experience.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to obtain necessary processing-related documentation and information, such as Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, title searches, appraisals, bank statements, etc.
• Notify relevant parties immediately of any irregularities or deviations from standard mortgage guidelines.
• Monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and all verifications to meet underwriting conditions and ensure quick resolution of any issues with underwriting.
• Perform administrative duties, including preparing and mailing commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowners insurance, sending loan suspend notices, updating loan conditions, and providing closing attorneys with additional documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Conduct analytical evaluations to determine changes required in regulatory documents.
• Adhere to the company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the company\'s risk appetite, escalating any risk-related issues to management.
• Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T Bank’s internal control standards and ensure the timely implementation of audit recommendations and regulatory actions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Associates degree with at least one year of mortgage industry experience, or two years of equivalent work experience in the mortgage industry.
• Alternatively, three years of equivalent work experience, including a minimum of one year in the mortgage industry.
• OR six months of specific M&T Bank mortgage processing experience, plus an additional 6-12 months of experience in customer service, operations, or the financial services industry.
• Proficient PC skills, with strong knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email, and PDF software.
