Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience working as an automation engineer with a focus in manufacturing/industrial environment
- Experience designing industrial networks as required for automation projects
- Experience supporting Engineering department in the selection of network and MES related hardware (Cisco Rockwell Switches)
- Experience designing database structures (SQL, MySQL) for MES and automation applications (FactoryTalk, Ignition)
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing networks and MES solutions remotely and occasionally at the customer's site
- Ability to handle a dynamic workload with minimum supervision & designing and developing system concepts following customer requirements
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Network Automation Engineer to join an energy & industrial client in Houston, TX. In this role, the individual will design industrial networks required for automation projects and support the Engineering department in selecting network and MES-related hardware. They should be capable of handling a dynamic workload with minimal supervision. Additionally, they will design database structures for MES and automation applications, and develop system concepts based on customer requirements. Collaboration with the Controls Engineering department is essential to develop HMI and MES programs that integrate with control systems. The individual will also travel to customer sites for installation, debugging, and commissioning of network and MES applications and equipment, which will be less than 20% of the time and for periods of two weeks or less. Troubleshooting and diagnosing networks and MES solutions will be done remotely and occasionally at the customer’s site. Effective communication with customers to understand their needs, requirements, and expectations is crucial. Lastly, they will coordinate with the Project Manager to strategize milestone completion.
Compensation:
$37/hr to $45/hr.
