A leading defense technology company specializing in the development of advanced standoff sensor solutions is seeking an experienced Raman Spectroscopy AI Developer. Position Summary:
We are looking for an innovative Algorithm Developer/Chemometrician to join our research and development team. This role involves leading algorithm development efforts, including AI/ML and classical statistical approaches, specifically in computational methods related to Raman Spectroscopy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop algorithms to predict chemical presence from extensive chemical libraries (~1000 elements).
- Maintain and organize spectra libraries/databases for analysis and modeling.
- Apply machine learning techniques (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning) for chemical property prediction and molecular structure optimization.
- Train, tune, and evaluate machine learning models for performance optimization.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in algorithm development for spectroscopy applications (Raman preferred).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C#, and ML tools like PyTorch.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to validate computational models using experimental data.
- Excellent interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience developing spectroscopy-based algorithms for multiple products.
- Expertise in algorithms for detecting chemical mixtures.
- Experience with Raman-based algorithm development for large chemical libraries (>5000).
- Background in advanced ML techniques (e.g., Few-Shot Adversarial Domain Adaptation).
- Leadership experience managing teams of 3-5 individuals.
- Advanced degree preferred.
Additional Information:
- Security Clearance: Eligibility for a Department of Defense Security Clearance required. Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred.
- Physical Demands: The role may require occasional lifting (up to 65 lbs), standing, walking, ladder climbing, and exposure to laboratory environments with chemicals and hazardous materials.
