Position Overview: The Donor Engagement Manager position is a key position that works closely with volunteers to achieve specified goals for program grants, major gifts and capital funding.
Grants: This position is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with our donors, securing funds and reporting back on how much financing has been generated. Major Gifts: This position along with the Senior Vice President and CEO are the main points of contact for major gifts. Capital Campaign: Works with an ad-hoc committee identified to help with major funding for building expansions, upgrades, repairs, etc...This position along with the Senior Vice President and CEO will have responsibilities on daily planning, coordination and management of all capital campaigns.
Paid As: Salary, Exempt Full-Time Employee, Supervisory Role
Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday
Reports To: Senior Vice President
Committees: Development Council, Endowment Board, other Board Committees as required
Other Relationships: Meet as necessary with agency board members in areas relating to fundraising, marketing, public relations, etc...Works with Marketing & Communications, Accounting, Grant Compliance, and other agency staff to implement capital campaign goals, major gifts and other fundraising goals.

- Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
- Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times
- Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
- Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR
- Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver
- Contribute to other projects when necessary
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
Grants
- Maintain a sufficient grant portfolio to achieve budget goals for program and capital expenses
- Implement a schedule of new and renewal grants to achieve budget goals
- Monitor and complete grant applications in a timely manner and include the SVP and Grant Compliance Manager, as well as other staff in the grant application process as needed
- Submit reports and renewals in a timely manner
- Actively research and apply for new grant opportunities as approved by the SVP or CEO
- Schedule meetings with local business leaders, trust officers and foundation staff to explore and develop donation opportunities
- Communicate directly with potential donors for the purpose of follow up on materials sent by mail, e-mail and in-person delivery
- Schedule appointments, solicit gifts and cultivate relationships with potential donors
- Participate in the local chapter of the Association of Professional Fundraisers, Fundraising Fanatics, and other groups as directed by the Senior Vice President
- Participate in meetings as directed by the Senior Vice President
Major Gifts
- Create, implement and coordinate cultivation and stewardship plan, activities and appreciation events for major donors
- Maintain and implement calendar cultivation phone calls, written notes and other communication with major donors
- Serve as the key staff member for the Legacy Society and monitor the accuracy of members, gifts and recognition
- Maintain accurate and timely updates for donor recognition, including the donor tree, recommending articles in agency newsletters and social media, gift presentations, etc…
- Review pledges for timely payment and accuracy
- Work with donors to achieve anticipated outcomes from planned gifts
- Retain up to date referral recommendations for individuals seeking assistance with planned gifts
Capital Campaign
- Serve as the organizational hub for capital campaigns, including managing all aspects of campaign committee meetings and the volunteer recognition process
- Create content for internal and external campaign newsletters, media talking points, etc...
- Manage prospect process and input data into programs or databases as it becomes available
- Prepare and distribute monthly status reports for the Board of Directors, volunteers and committees
- Organize and coordinate all donor campaign solicitation mailings and communication
- Coordinate donor appreciation letters, phone calls and all other gift acceptance and acknowledgement procedures including receipts
- Administer and coordinate pledge reporting, acknowledgements and campaign cultivation events
- Oversee collateral material design/production for each phase of campaigns
- Work with campaign team to develop strategies for individual and institutional prospects
- Responsible for staffing all committees of the campaign and providing committee chairs and members with the tools and materials necessary to succeed in their solicitations
- Articulate through written materials such as proposals, personalized letters and case statements on the need and vision for the Agency
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS
- Writing, tracking and reporting experience on multiple grants simultaneously
- Research grant prospect experience for multiple programs and capital needs
- Strong commitment to the mission, vision, values and programs of the organization and the ability to convey that information orally and in writing
- Proficiency in computers and technology
- Willingness to operate in a hands-on environment and be a team player, with the ability to motivate volunteers
- Ability to manage multiple demands in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong analytical skills and a service approach
- Proven ability to exercise good and independent judgment and commitment to detail
- Plan and act strategically, tactically and creatively
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years fundraising experience including a clear track record in managing events, cultivation activities, and understanding of trends in philanthropy
- Experience working with volunteers required, specifically to capital campaigns preferred
Compensation details: 60000-70000 Yearly Salary
