Supervisor, Engineering BENEFITS:

The NPI Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the NPI manufacturing engineering department and their activities. The NPI Engineering Supervisor will also establish priorities and provide technical guidance to the engineering staff and other functional departments to ensure compliance to customer and corporate requirements.
Supervisor, Engineering ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Supervise NPI manufacturing engineering team
- Track and support development complete through processing and completion of First Article Inspection Report completion
- Interface directly with customers on technical and quality discussions on NPI / development parts
- Provide technical liaison support with customer as assigned by management
- Confers with customers and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling ensuring efficient production methods
- Determine processes, identifies the materials, and supplies to be used. Designs and builds appropriate fixtures necessary for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing
- Develop new part estimates & quotations
- Provide technical guidance (product and process) to all functional departments as required
- Manage product change process and manufacturing engineering team priorities
- Establishes customer and internal engineering change orders (ECOs), processes and incorporates the changes, and ensures changes are implemented.
- Oversee department and corporate training activities
- Lead engineering technical reviews
- Conduct corporate mandated safety awareness training
- Manage document control and product configuration utilizing company ERP systems
- Identify and recommend appropriate staffing levels for engineering department
- Assure department conformance to ISO procedures and FMI established protocols
- Supervise process improvement activities and cost reduction projects
- Lead design reviews for new product introduction (NPI)
- Manage customer collaboration portals
- Lead complex projects to support company directives as assigned by management
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices
- Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Supervisor, Engineering EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Engineering
- 6-8 years of experience in the precision manufacturing industry
- Semiconductor manufacturing / process knowledge
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Read, analyze, and interpret common industrial, manufacturing, and technical procedures, schematics, diagrams, drawings, and blueprints
- Writes reports, business correspondence, assembly instructions and procedural manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Computer literacy including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, & CAD software
- Organizational, analytical, and planning skills
- Ability to organize and manage complex projects
- Ability to create and present presentations to large groups of people
Supervisor, Engineering PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle objects
- The employee is occasionally required to lift and move objects up to 15 pounds
Supervisor, Engineering WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- The physical environment requires the employee to work in a normal office setting with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor and certified cleanroom
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate
- The employee will occasionally be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment.
