Position Summary
APRNs are essential members of the GastroMed team. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based medical care, with a focus on prevention, health promotion, and health maintenance activities that affect long-term health outcomes.
Duties / Responsibilities
APRNs' direct tasks include coordinating all aspects of patient care, including diagnosing health issues, detecting changes in a patient's health and changing treatment plans as necessary, administering medicines, evaluating responses to treatments and medications, consulting, and serving as leaders within the clinical setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field of Science.
- Minimum of two (2) years of APRN experience required.
- GI experience preferred.
- Current active State of Florida License as an ARNP
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
- Ability to practice independently while functioning as a leader within the healthcare team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to explain complex medical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Excellent observational and assessment skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Abilities
- The ability to stand for long periods of time, push, pull and reach, occasionally bend, sit, stoop, and stretch.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Have a normal range of hearing and eyesight, including color vision, depth perception, close and distant vision, and the ability to focus.
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills and experience with common office equipment and electronic medical recordkeeping software required. Experience with eClinical Works is preferred.
