Our client's expanding team of 430 dedicated employees is at the heart of their success. As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join the team. This *newly created* role is crucial in ensuring HR operations run smoothly and in compliance with regulations while fostering a positive workplace culture.
**This is a fully remote opportunity but applicants must reside in the Sacramento area and be able to travel locally as needed.**

Job Description:
As the HR Manager, you will be the sole HR professional supporting a dynamic team. You will oversee all aspects of HR functions including payroll, compliance, onboarding, and employee relations. The role requires a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently and managing multiple responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify weekly payroll for 430 employees using Paychex.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and overtime.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits of HR practices and employee files to ensure compliance.
- Onboarding & Employee Relations:
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires.
- Develop and implement employee retention strategies and programs.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Prepare and manage HR reports and documentation.
- Coordinate employee benefits administration and assist with related inquiries.
- Travel locally (approximately 25% of the time) to visit various restaurant locations for meetings, training, and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with a strong background in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with Paychex or similar payroll systems.
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
