Are you ready to take your mining expertise to the next level? Caterpillar is on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate Global Excellence Manager - Site Performance Management to join our team in Tucson, AZ, or Peoria, IL. In this pivotal role, you’ll report to the Senior Manager of Site Performance Management within our Mining Center of Excellence. Your mission? To collaborate with Site Performance Managers (SPMs) worldwide, driving improved fleet performance at specific operations around the world.
What You’ll Do:
As a key player in our team, you’ll work closely with SPMs and Subject Matter Experts to identify the skills, tools, and support needed to enhance customer fleet performance. Your responsibilities will include:
SPM Development:
Identify and document the essential knowledge, skills, and tools for SPM success.
Develop training programs to upskill current SPMs and nurture future talent.
Collaborate with regional teams on site selection and goal-setting for SPMs.
SPM Support:
Lead global collaboration to share best practices and successful processes.
Create and maintain standard documents and processes for SPMs.
Provide coaching on strategy development, customer engagement, and project execution.
Identify gaps in current tools and support the development of new solutions.
What Skills you will have:
Technical Excellence: Extensive mining experience and deep understanding of the Caterpillar Site Performance Management Strategy. Deep understanding of the knowledge, skills, tools and support needed for SPMs to be successful in the field, including Mining Equipment Management and Maintenance and Repair processes and tools. Ability to support development of tools, processes and training to improve SPM Capabilities.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems to drive improved fleet performance at the mine site level (Availability, Productivity & Cost). Ability to develop SPMs & supporting tools in this space.
Data Gathering & Analysis: Comprehensive knowledge of Mining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and process metrics. Ability to calculate and analyze KPIs to identify areas of opportunity.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Ability to create & present effective presentations and utilize project management concepts.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with customers, partners, and team members. Proven ability to work with and influence people from many different backgrounds and cultures.
Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align to the mining customer’s needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
Top Candidates will also have:
Experience in/with the Caterpillar SPM Role.
Experience with Caterpillar rotational / career development programs.
Experience executing Site Assessments using the Caterpillar Site Assessment tools.
Experience implementing and executing continuous improvement projects at mine sites.
Additional Information:
The primary location for this position is Tucson, AZ, or Peoria, IL.
Domestic relocation assistance is available.
This position may require 25 % travel.
