Job Description:
Provide expertise and scientific consultation related to medical countermeasures being utilized for federal public health emergency responses.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit materials, such as reports, draft regulations, scholarly works, reference works and talking points.
- Draft articles for review for possible submission to technical journals, command information publications and other media covering significant accomplishments.
- Provide scientific and technical consultation on the development of strategies around outreach and senior leader engagement.
- Provide technical and scientific consultation on the development of strategies around medical operations and regional engagements.
- Develop, edit, and review material for leadership briefs, EA engagement, White House briefings, etc.
- Serve as a technical consultant resource to help navigate the federal-private partnerships during federal health responses.
- Serve as subject matter expert on medical operations requirement standards, surge standards, and other critical guidance that are developed/implemented by the client and engage in dissemination strategies in conjunction with the required program.
- Support other technical and scientific activities relevant to preparedness and response, as directed.
- Conduct travel with the leadership and/or other program staff to provide scientific and technical consultation, as required.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Education: to include related fields such as Business Administration/Management, Public Administration, Contracting/Acquisition or Political Science
- Advanced degree and/or 15+ years of industry experience or
- Masters’ degree and/or 10+ years’ of industry experience
- Preferred Experience:
- At least three (3+) years of relevant experience (e.g., laboratory clinician, research clinician, pharmacist, or other healthcare setting)
- Experience performing healthcare related data analysis, data management, and problem solving
- Demonstrated experience conceptualizing research directions, analyzing trends, and helping develop justifications for new research and development investments
- Demonstrated experience in working with, managing, and designing methods for collection of health-related information and personal health information
- Experience providing scientific advice to senior government leaders
- (Desired): experience in conducting and publishing clinical research
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe applications. Working knowledge of remote/virtual meeting environments.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate the intellectual content of scientific and technological information to both scientific and lay audiences quickly and effectively using plain language.
- Possess expertise conducting literature reviews and market research.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as good organization skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
