Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive data quality standards, policies, and procedures specific to legal department data.
- Lead initiatives to establish a Data Management Office (DMO) within the legal department, overseeing data governance, data stewardship, and compliance with data management policies.
- Champion data management efforts to increase AI adoption and support data-driven decision making.
- Clean and preprocess legal department data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability for analysis and reporting.
- Create and maintain robust data models that facilitate comprehensive analysis and visualization of legal data.
- Recommend AI/ML techniques to manage data integrity, enrich core datasets, extract value from unstructured data, and automate manual data processing workflows.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify use cases for Generative AI, evaluate suitable internal tools, and drive roadmap to implement AI feature for enterprise use cases.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate key metrics and performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
- Define and monitor business KPIs related to legal operations, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- Analyze complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends that inform strategic decision-making within the legal department.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams to implement data validation rules, automated checks, and data quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of legal department data to identify and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts on data management best practices, data analysis techniques, and visualization tools.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data management, analytics, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Scientist, or in a similar role, with a strong background in data integrity and management.
- Experience in functional department such as Legal, Finance, Procurement, or People would be a big plus.
- Experience in establishing or managing a Data Management Office (DMO) is highly desirable.
- Expertise in data cleaning, data modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python/R, and data visualization tools (Tableau, BusinessObjects).
- Proficiency in AI/ML for entity extraction, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, text generation, tagging, etc.
- Experience in data migration and technology transformation programs (Snowflake, Salesforce)
- Solid understanding of data governance principles, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and best practices in data management.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Pay Range: $75/hr - $80/hr
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
