A key Optimus client is seeking a highly skilled IT Contracts and Negotiations Specialist. The primary focus of this role is to negotiate IT and technology-related contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with the needs of our projects and organizational policies. This role is not focused on pricing, discounts or other typical terms but is responsible for the review, analysis and recommendations around the remaining base agreement terms and conditions such as Warranty or Indemnity as examples. This position is primarily focused on the accuracy and completeness of the rights and obligations of Information Technology contracts necessary for each type of service or product offering and not the price thereof. It is a highly valued role for a uniquely skilled legal professional.

Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate terms for a variety of IT-related agreements, including professional services, software licenses, SaaS/XaaS, and data licensing.
- Review, recommend and amend legal terms within contracts for hardware, telecom, SOWs, and order forms.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, such as technical leads and legal advisors.
- Ensure contracts meet project requirements and adhere to organizational policies.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in energy technology, industry regulations, and procurement best practices ensuring effective terms and conditions are covered in company agreements.
- Identify opportunities for improving IT contracting terms and conditions thereby mitigating risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, information technology, or a related field; a J.D. is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience negotiating IT contracts for professional services, SaaS, data, software, hardware, and telecommunications.
- Proven track record in negotiating non-commercial legal terms with minimal supervision.
- Deep understanding of IT contracting practices, legal frameworks, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into contractual terms.
- Proficiency with contract lifecycle management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and able to self-manage with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with SaaS licensing, telecom hardware, AI, and support for IT/Tech projects.
- Strong understanding of contract redlining and contractual risk management and indemnities.
