Position Summary
The Program Manager, Insurance Operations works directly with the Practice Leader to execute internal programs and projects to meet company goals, involving department or cross-functional teams of subject matter experts to provide ongoing carrier compliance regarding enrolled clients, as well as to brokers and general agencies for CoPower’s portfolio of products. This role collaborates with all functional areas within CoPower and external business partners. This role is also responsible for conducting analyses, continuous process improvements and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Organize and track projects (i.e., launching new capabilities and products, SOP documentation) and various programs (i.e., retention and sales incentives) to improve company efficiencies, support the company’s long-term goals, and develop program and project budgets as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Raise and track project/program escalations.
- Identify barriers and develop solutions.
- Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and transform needs and goals into functional requirements. Deliver the appropriate artifacts as needed.
- Focus on process improvement, organizational change management, program management and other processes relative to the business to improve workflow efficiencies and reduce operating costs.
- Lead in developing, implementing, and executing program and project plans.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams with subject matter experts, delivering products and programs from the design process to completion.
- Generate and distribute standard reports as defined on schedule. Responsible for ad-hoc reporting, as necessary.

- Remain up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of operations and analytics including Operational Process Improvement experience.
- 3+ years of experience with project and program management.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar preferred.
- Solid understanding of project/program management techniques and methods, plus change management principles. For example, RACI matrix principles, Gantt & Pert charts, etc.
- Experience working in a cross functional highly matrixed organization.
- Preferred knowledge of the insurance business such as experience in small group healthcare products with an insurance company, general agency, or third-party administrator.
- Solid experience with MS Office Software, especially Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, VLookups, chart slicers, conditional formatting, crosswalks, etc.). Strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to data mine, work with complex data and track results in various systems such as Salesforce and proprietary databases.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated abilities to partner at all levels on both strategic and tactical levels to achieve results.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively provide solutions to complex issues.
- Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues.

- Familiarity with health insurance regulatory processes to ensure company compliance.
