Overview:
Looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team as a subject matter expert in mixed-signal electrical design. This role requires a deep understanding of best practices and future technology trends. The unique intellectual property demands an innovative and curious engineer who will contribute to and mentor others in the development of new hardware architecture and design. You will also support implementation in test and product systems. This is a critical role within our organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in mixed-signal electrical design projects throughout the product lifecycle—from planning and design to development, launch, and ongoing product support.
- Provide expert knowledge and best practices for the architecture and design of mixed-signal system hardware.
- Lead new mixed-signal designs through Design Transfer to manufacturing, including supporting DFM analysis, ICT, troubleshooting, and First Article Inspections.
- Test and evaluate new technologies related to ICs, electromechanical actuators, power circuits, considering manufacturing scalability, maintainability, and supply chain availability.
- Architect and develop automated test systems for continuous product maintenance and improvement, including executing test planning, builds, and testing.
- Lead new designs through regulatory and standards testing for EMC and electrical requirements for medical devices, such as FCC Part 15 and IEC 60601-1.
- Author and review domain-specific design controls in the Design History File.
- Act as a domain expert, providing knowledge and training on product characteristics, technologies, and regulatory requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 5 - 7+ years of professional experience in mixed-signal circuit design and development in a regulated environment.
- Proven proficiency in designing signal conditioning circuits for low-noise signal acquisition.
- Experience with rapid prototyping methods, including breadboarding, circuit simulation, off-the-shelf hardware, hand-soldering, creating PCB layouts, and proof-of-concept evaluation.
- Strong skills in creating technical documentation and translating product requirements into architecture and implementation.
- Knowledge of standards and regulations relevant to wireless medical devices, such as the IEC-60601-1 family, UL, and FCC Part 15.
- Team player with initiative and the ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment.
