We are in search of a Production Supervisor to join our team! As a key figure in this role, you will be at the forefront of planning and executing production activities, ensuring alignment with our production goals, quality standards, and cost targets. Your responsibilities will also include prioritizing production schedules based on delivery commitments, shipment plans, equipment effectiveness, and material availability. Additionally, you will be responsible for the hiring, supervision, and development of personnel to enhance production efficiency, along with crafting schedules and staffing plans for designated areas. This position involves providing general supervision to nonexempt employees, with all supervisory duties carried out in strict adherence to organizational policies and relevant laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that departments meet production’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals within budget and a high level of quality.
- Assist with plant capacity, equipment, and space necessary to meet current and future production plans.
- Determines work schedules and overtime, allocation of resources and which machines will run and resolves problems as they occur.
- Looks for new ways to improve the efficiency of production lines.
- Confers with department supervisors/managers to determine status of assigned projects.
- Prepares production reports.
- Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
- Provide leadership to employees, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Consult with other shifts to ensure production handovers are effective.
- Analyze production activities, then recommend or implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross training per the business need.
- Maintain daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements; analyze shortfalls and document causes.
- Lead 6S in designated departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree (A.S) from two -year college (preferably in Electronics), Bachelors degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of supervisory role experience.
- Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.
- Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen.
- Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP/MRP…)
- US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Manufacturing.
- Lean/ 6 sigma certification.
- 5S implementations.
- Leading Gemba and Kaizen events.
Salary Range:
$74,800.00-$99,880.000
