Job Summary: The Operations and Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and optimization of battery storage facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale battery storage systems, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of battery technologies, electrical systems, and energy management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of battery storage facilities, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and maintenance schedules to maximize system reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor system performance using advanced diagnostic tools and software, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams during the installation and commissioning of new battery storage systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with specifications.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical support and training to on-site personnel and other stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and project progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations engineering, with at least 3 years specifically focused on battery storage systems.
- Strong knowledge of battery technologies, including lithium-ion, flow batteries, and other emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in using SCADA systems, energy management software, and other diagnostic tools.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing operational procedures and maintenance schedules.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel to various site locations as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind power.
