Instructional Empowerment is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join our team in IE’s West Palm Beach, Florida office. This person oversees and maintains the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring it operates efficiently, securely, and reliably. This role demands a mix of technical know-how, problem-solving abilities, and project management skills, along with the capacity to work with diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate should possess a robust background in operating systems, networking, security management, and disaster recovery, coupled with a dedication to continuous learning and adaptability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise
- Operating Systems: Proficient in Windows, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Teams with voice, SharePoint, Azure AD.
- Networking: Understands TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols.
- Hardware Knowledge: Experienced with servers, storage systems, and network devices.
- Security Management
- Firewall and Security Policies: Configures and manages firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- User and Access Management: Manages user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Compliance and Auditing: Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and IT security best practices.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting
- Analytical Thinking: Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues.
- Incident Management: Manages and responds to system outages or security breaches.
- Root Cause Analysis: Performs root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Project Management
- Planning and Implementation: Plans and executes IT projects like system upgrades, migrations, and new installations.
- Vendor Management: Works with vendors for procuring hardware, software, and services.
- Budgeting: Understands budget management and cost control for IT resources.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Documentation: Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
- Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with IT staff, departments, and external partners.
- User Support: Provides technical support and training to end-users.
- Adaptability and Continuous Learning
- Keeping Up with Technology: Stays updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Flexibility: Adapts quickly to new technologies, tools, and processes.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup Management
- Backup Solutions: Sets up and manages backup and recovery solutions.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develops, tests, and maintains disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledgeable about industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Documentation: Creates, maintains, and updates system documentation and procedures.
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning
- System Monitoring: Proficient in using monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance.
- Performance Optimization: Tunes systems for optimal performance and reliability.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is required.
- Minimum four years of related technical support experience, including Microsoft 365 administration
- Microsoft Certified Professional
- Experience providing end-user support, training, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in creating and maintaining system documentation
Work Environment/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a hybrid position that resides in the West Palm Beach, Florida office. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST). There may be times when evening/weekend work is necessary to meet the needs of the customer.
