About The Role
This exciting opportunity is part of the Navigation Team, which focuses on the development of novel navigational methods using alternatives to GNSS. The team is responsible for the full lifecycle of technology development, from advanced concepts and design to delivery, integration, testing, verification, validation, and operation. In this role, you’ll have the chance to bring cutting-edge technologies to market.
As a Navigation Software Engineer, you will engage in pioneering research and technology development in guidance, navigation, and control systems using innovative navigation techniques.
What You’ll Do
- Join a small, agile engineering team focused on prototyping, developing, and producing algorithms for groundbreaking Quantum Navigation systems.
- Develop and implement state estimation and localization algorithms.
- Collaborate with applied science teams on state-of-the-art R&D, integrating and conceptualizing navigation techniques for novel Quantum signals.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conceive, design, analyze, and develop software components of the navigation solution.
- Identify metrics to assess the performance of navigation solutions and develop and implement testing and verification protocols.
- Work with applied scientists to develop and integrate novel signals.
About You
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on robotics, plus 3+ years of development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to USG contract requirements.
- Familiarity with software development, git-based development, and unit testing.
- Experience in simulation development and hardware/software integration of navigation sensors.
- Understanding of state estimation, tracking, and localization techniques (e.g., Bayesian Filtering, Kalman Filtering, Particle Filtering).
- Knowledge of navigation systems and algorithms, including GNSS and INS.
- Experience validating the performance of navigation systems.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of CUDA, SLAM, GPS fundamentals, GNSS/IMU integration, map-based navigation, and Digital Signal Processing/Communications Theory.
- Eligibility for US Secret security clearance.
- Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning.
- Experience implementing navigation algorithms in real-time systems.
- Passion for physics or knowledge of aeronautics.
- A proactive, startup mindset, enjoying work with a diverse and nimble team.
- Hands-on experience with sensor measurements from real-world systems.
