We are seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental professional, to cover the company's South Californian operations, and interested in working for an organization that emphasizes the production of sustainable products, such as recycled aggregates and energy-efficient infrastructure materials.
Company: Leading producer of aggregates and infrastructure products
Location: Covering 9 sites across Southern California
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 + Bonus
Reporting To: Regional Divisional Manager
Operations: Recycling / Aggregates / Infrastructure / Construction Materials
Core Responsibilities:
- Be the most senior company EHS representative across the region
- Ensure the continuous implementation and improvement of environmental, health and safety training program, putting employee safety as a priority
- Participate in new inductions and employee training in EHS.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS standards, and regulations.
- Document and report all EHS incidents.
- Environmental sampling from all facilities to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct and report record keeping requirements for environmental regulatory reporting.
- Maintain records for permit requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with site and corporate teams, emphasizing environmental, health and safety initiatives.
- Local commuting 75% of time to various Southern California locations.
Key Requirements:
- Degree educated or relevant expereince - EHS related field
- Industry experience - Mining, Cement, Aggregates, Construction, Infrastructure Projects
- Regulatory experience with CALOSHA Title 8, OSHA 1910 and 1926
- Regulatory experience with CA Waterboard, CARB, and other CA environmental agencies
- Extensive fieldwork experience
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills
- Valid driving license and ability to travel across multiple states
