Job Description: Director of Engineering
We are currently looking for a very hands-on Director of Engineering for a Resort in the Bahamas.
Caribbean experience mandatory.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, capable of managing a team of engineers and maintenance staff. Experience in project management, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards is essential.
You must have a deep understanding of HVAC systems, RO, desalination plants, Resort Pre-opening, Marine experience, electrical systems, plumbing, and other critical infrastructure in a tropical climate. Knowledge of sustainable practices and energy efficiency measures would be beneficial.
Familiarity with the local regulations, culture, and supply chain challenges in the Bahamas can be a significant advantage. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of working in an island environment.
Experience in dealing with natural disasters (such as hurricanes) and the ability to ensure continuity of operations during such events is important.
Experience in renovation or new construction projects in the region, including working with local contractors and suppliers.
