About this Job
As a Power Tree Engineer (Contract) at Eridan you will be responsible for the design, sourcing, and customization of DC-DC converters. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop efficient and reliable power conversion solutions that meet our technical and performance requirements.
As our Power Tree Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop a high efficiency power tree for a 5G radio unit, including selecting components, creating schematics, and developing prototypes.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for DC-DC converter components, LDOs, and power modules, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
- Customize existing DC-DC converter designs to meet specific application requirements, including modifications to circuit layouts and component specifications.
- Conduct detailed circuit simulations and analysis to validate design performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate power generation circuits into larger systems and troubleshoot any issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for design processes, specifications, and testing procedures.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in power conversion technology to incorporate best practices and innovative solutions.
Qualities of a Successful Candidate
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and developing power systems for RF circuits
- Some experience with negative supply/bias generation
- Strong proficiency in circuit design, simulation, and analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with sourcing components and working with suppliers.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power conversion.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout using Altium
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-frequency DC-DC converters and advanced power management techniques.
- Experience with power management integrated circuits (PMICs)
- Knowledge of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations in power design.
- Experience with FPGA or microcontroller-based control systems for power converters.
- Some experience with GaN devices
Salary Range
This is a contract role that could last 2-4 months. The hourly range for the primary location of this role is between $150 and $200 per hour.
