The Network Security Administrator supports both Network and Security systems, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data assets while improving network performance and reliability.
Primary Duties
· Analyze, design, develop, and test network and security systems.
· Provide on-call support coverage.
Controlling – Network & Security 40%
- Develop and implement proactive security strategies and systems;
- Analyze security breaches, document events, and recommend preventive measures;
- Manage security systems including Data Loss Prevention, Privileged Session Management, IPS, Firewalls, VPNs, Endpoint Protection, Mobile Device Management, and application security;
- Review and enhance IT security practices and procedures;
- Administer data security infrastructure and enforce policies;
- Resolve complex security issues and escalate when necessary;
- Administer Firewalls, VPNs, LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure with vendor assistance.
- Monitor and ensure network performance and stability; and
- Perform network user management and troubleshoot network issues.
Planning and Organizing 20%
- Administer software release controls and manage integration, testing, deployment, and support of network and security applications;
- Maintain and report on project status;
- Research and resolve complex IT queries;
- Develop project requirements and interface with users; and
- Ensure compliance with legal and industry standards related to information security and privacy.
Directing 20%
- Provide network and security support to managers and staff;
- Report potential security breaches and participate in security awareness programs;
- Mentor and guide IT staff; and
- Coordinate with business units and departments on information systems and security.
Administration 20%
· Prepare and distribute management reports;
· Develop policies and procedures; and
· Perform software bug and patch analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS

· Extensive knowledge of network and server security, protocols, and compliance standards.
· Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
· Ability to work under strict timelines and coordinate multiple projects.
· Regular attendance and ability to work well with others.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and two plus years’ experience administering networks and servers in a medium to large-scale, multi-platform information technology environment with a recent history of holding a security focused position.
· Preferred certifications: CCNA, CEH, CISSP, CISM, or CCNP.
