Position Overview:
The Commercial Construction Superintendent will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of tenant improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Manage all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
Team Management:
- Supervise and lead site personnel, including subcontractors and laborers.
- Provide clear communication and direction to the team, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
Quality & Safety:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
Client & Stakeholder Interaction:
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Address client concerns and requests promptly and professionally.
Schedule & Cost Management:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project phases.
- Monitor project costs and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and clients on project progress and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or a degree in construction management is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction, specifically with tenant improvement projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and tools
Certifications:
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
