Seeking highly motivated candidates for an Electrical SWGR Engineering Supervisor as part of an expansion of business to a new Houston manufacturing site. In this role, you will work with a team of experienced professionals to develop groundbreaking new technologies and product designs, taking initial concepts through to production launch. This position will be responsible for design and integration of (Low and Medium Voltage) switchgear and will be engaged with cross functional teams to define requirements, analyze feasibility, and propose solutions that meet customer needs.

Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design of (Low and Medium Voltage) switchgear
- Propose concepts and develop complex level designs for both existing and new product lines.
- Deliver innovative designs that meet profit, cost, quality, and time-to-market metrics.
- Determine and specify design parameters, validate according to standards and specifications, and prepare documentation.
- Oversee the development and validation process for validation and testing of components/systems or assemblies. .
- Develop test plans based on D/PFMEA, project specifications, industry standards, and reliability and validation requirements for both internal and external laboratories.
- Direct laboratory testing, analysis of data, and create corrective action plans as required based on the findings.
- Ensure project designs meet requirements of electrical specifications and standards while promoting safe and efficient assembly.
- Prepare written documentation of processes, material requirements, test results, and project activity as required.
- Understand and enforce regulatory document requirements.
- Investigate patentable concepts
- Interface with outside vendors, consultants, and customers.
- Work with third-party vendors to develop high-quality, lowest-cost design options.
- Continuously improve engineering processes including project and product costs, quality, and project lead times.
- Actively collaborate and provide Engineering support to Sales/Product Management and Manufacturing on new products and processes.
- Recommends changes or modifications as appropriate to meet manufacturability, functionality, and measurability requirements.
- Approves and oversees final layout, detail, assembly drawings, and other required documentation.
- Creates computer models of the product design concept
- Oversees the generation and maintenance of an organized database and/or B.O.M., change reports and/or other documentation.
- Experienced in formal new product development processes (example, PMP)
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Masters’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design and system development, 15 years preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with direct product design related to ANSI/IEEE (Low and Medium Voltage) Switchgear.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Experience in CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor) and electrical design tools
- Knowledge of standards for (Low and Medium Voltage) switchgears
- Experience with formal product safety review process
- Creation and management of Design and Application FMEAs
