Seal for Life Industries- a division on Henkel Adhesives Technologies, is seeking an Application Engineer-Technical Service to support our Polymer Flooring brand, Verdia under the Infrastructure Coatings division. The IC group services the Performance, Polymer Flooring, Insulative, Marine, and Fire Protection Coatings markets. The Application Engineer will be responsible for providing assistance in support of the technical needs of the Verdia’s markets and products. This work includes implementing the application capabilities and techniques with the client base, providing technical and customer support onsite and on call. It also includes relationship management with Verdia’s existing customer base, as well as the growth of Verdia’s position through the addition of new customers and applicators.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits and interfaces with existing, potential, and new clients
- Reviews projects, makes recommendations and works on new projects and/or ongoing development of projects
- Diagnoses and resolves problems via phone, email, and field visits
- Develops procedures and process documentation by working through customer specific procedures onsite
- Assists in the development of technical and application specifications for Verdia products
- Works with clients to implement best practices with regard to application of material and quality assurance
- Determines if materials can be used for specific applications and works closely with R&D and Product Engineering to gather field data for possible recommendations Documents such recommendations and material desires.
- Assists in new product development by supporting internal, as necessary, and field spray applications
- Assists in application equipment development by relaying feedback from existing contractors and customers
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma is required, Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
- 5 years’ experience in the paint and coating industry
- Excellent communicator and strong interpersonal skills
- Travel is required, approximately 50% of time
- NACE training is preferred
- Ability to effectively present information
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
