This role offers the opportunity to provide technical expertise in supporting both existing and new product lines. The engineer will be responsible for tackling design, sustaining, and manufacturing challenges across all product lines. Additionally, the engineer may contribute to new product development and the establishment of new production lines.
This hands-on position involves work both in the office and on the manufacturing floor. Key responsibilities include design optimization, cost-saving initiatives, functional design improvements, enhancing manufacturability, managing bills of materials (BOM), and overseeing controlled documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of product line improvements for manufacturing in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Troubleshoot and develop corrective measures for prototype designs and address quality defects.
- Develop and execute test protocols to assess design changes, product enhancements, and cost reduction opportunities.
- Design and fabricate prototypes, tooling fixtures, and test benches as required for departmental projects.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to optimize material supply for cost efficiency and design for manufacturability.
- Manage product costing and BOM through a centralized document management system.
- Identify and resolve assembly issues to enhance product consistency and reduce variance, in collaboration with production, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Partner with the design engineering team to ensure proper communication of new product introductions and changes to existing products to production staff. Prepare and communicate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and/or Technical Data Documentation (TDD) changes to production.
- Coordinate technical information with various departments related to specific projects or quality issues.
- Adhere to and promote safety procedures and policies.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and other Office Suite programs.
