Title: Project Controls Specialist

OVERVIEW
This role involves planning and scheduling a new construction industrial project, monitoring project costs, and estimating. Work is conducted under minimal supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule Development and Analysis: Create schedules and analyses for contract packages to forecast construction activities, identifying potential safety and schedule conflicts.
- Schedule Monitoring and Updating: Regularly update schedules by gathering information from meetings, construction coordination interviews, and field verification.
- Project Productivity and Earned Value: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of earned value and project productivity metrics.
- Change Management: Manage the change notice/change order system, facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings.
- Cost Management: Maintain and reconcile the cost system, including commitments, change orders, contractor invoices, and cost reports.
- Progressive Scheduling: Establish and maintain a progressive system for project schedules.
- Construction Strategy: Assist in developing construction and contract strategies, particularly in relation to logistics and safety.
- Quantity Analysis: Perform quantity analysis for the duration of activities and for estimating purposes.
- Project Controls Leadership: Lead Project Controls efforts with contractors, and internal teams, providing necessary management direction within the Project Controls discipline.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Science, Building Science, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Certification**: Certification from AACE International or the Project Management Institute (PMI) is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience in scheduling, and cost control is required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
- Priority Management: Ability to effectively set and manage priorities.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss and correspond with various disciplines and contractors to gather pertinent information.
- Presentation and Organizational Skills: Excellent presentation and organizational skills are required.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Knowledge of deliverable development across disciplines to ensure coordination.
- Schedule and Cost Management: Understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for project controls deliverables. Ability to develop cost estimates, detailed schedules, and man-hour budgets.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office is required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
