We are working on a General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer role for a privately held business focused on acquiring and managing producing natural gas wells on behalf of institutional investors. The GC and CCO will manage and oversee all legal functions associated with the company and its affiliates and manage the firm’s compliance requirements as an SEC Registered Investment Adviser. These sophisticated transactions involve a high degree of structuring and coordination: upstream M&A; land and title work; legal, environmental, and engineering diligence; as well as financial securitization. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of legal experience, including significant M&A experience in the energy sector (preferably upstream), a strong entrepreneurial and commercial focus while managing risk, and prior GC and SEC compliance experience.
