Job Overview
The Tech Services Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of Tech Services and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Tech Services problems, especially Preservation of equipment, Work Order.
They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Tech Services Specialist understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Review/interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents; understand project design basis, and develop specifications
- Prepare construction work packages, write reports; perform field walk-downs/inspections to review the work for conformance with the design drawings, applicable codes/standards, and company policies/procedures
- Red-line drawings to show as-build conditions; perform engineering activities to develop/complete design; prepare/answer
- Request for Information and Field Work Order Requests
- Assist the Construction Manager in all issues about all site-related activities, as directed
- Assist the General Superintendent in all matters related to engineering Information
- Assist in the preparation of the Site Change Order
- Interface with the Construction Supervisor, Project Controls, and subcontractors to facilitate updates to the Construction Execution Plan
- Assist with daily progress in Work Face Planning software from information provided by Foremen/General Foremen
- Conduct weekly planning meetings with their Superintendents to determine work to be executed in the upcoming three weeks
- Assist in Record and communicating Lessons Learned captured on IWPs
- Generate weekly work plans on an IWP level with General Foremen/Superintendents’ direct input and record them in the Work Face Plan
- Monitor and facilitate subcontractor compliance with the Subcontractor Execution Plans and detailed Weekly Work Plans
- Not responsible for direct craft labor
Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in construction with an emphasis on Construction
- Moderate knowledge of MDR construction procedures, progress systems, material management systems, document management, and timekeeping systems
- Knowledge of MS Office skills, specifically with Excel and Access
- Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
- Respected for uncompromising integrity, work ethic, and professionalism
- Energetic with a positive and enthusiastic disposition, possessing a can-do attitude
- Project-focused, values-oriented, and results-driven
- Capable of performing assigned work with little oversight and instructions; completing assigned work on time in a satisfactory manner; job involves field assignment for an extended duration, outside field environment, frequent walking & climbing, traveling, no lift over 40 lbs. required
