Role: Plant Manager
Location: Carlsbad, NM
Type: Full-time, On-site
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Performance:
• Provide feedback to senior management on plant performance and system improvements.
• Oversee inventory management and ensure alignment with budget revenue targets.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly plant reports, ensuring all functions are performed as required.
• Lead and manage accounts receivable, focusing on collection efforts and monitoring AR activity.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices as mandated by regulatory agencies and company policies.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance, safety records, and DOT compliance with Pico Propane and Fuels fleet management.
• Schedule and dispatch drivers and service technicians.
• Assist with propane dispensing, fuel deliveries, and service technician tasks as needed.
• Implement safety initiatives in coordination with the Director of Safety.
Personnel Management:
• Assist with recruiting and hiring, and oversee onboarding and training of employees.
• Manage tasks, staff meetings, development programs, and operational reports as needed.
• Develop and manage training schedules for plant field staff.
• Ensure office staff compliance with company policies, including safekeeping of funds, personnel practices, and record-keeping procedures.
• Foster a cooperative and ethical work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Customer Service:
• Resolve customer complaints by identifying issues, selecting the best solutions, and ensuring timely resolution.
• Strive to achieve positive customer reviews and ensure timely, professional responses to inquiries.
• Maintain a focus on customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications to support plant success.
• Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to address sensitive inquiries.
• Ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education, Certification, Licenses Required:
• Associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED with at least two years of management experience, particularly in trades such as plumbing or mechanics; or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• CDL-A with hazmat and tanker endorsements (preferred).
Physical, Mental, Behavioral Requirements:
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods, work on a computer, and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Regularly lift and handle supplies and equipment weighing 20-80 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment screening and background checks.
• Willingness to work evening hours and weekends as needed.
• Exposure to extreme heat/cold, fumes, gases, and airborne particles in outdoor environments.
