ABOUT THE ROLE:
SF Research Institute seeks an experienced, Business Operations Manager to oversee Pharma and Non-Pharma Research Operations. Responsibilities include guiding staff, ensuring smooth operations, and focusing on continuous improvement. Ideal candidates have clinical research site experience, medical practice experience, or strong science knowledge. Key priorities are project management and customer satisfaction. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Administration or related field
- Minimum 1 year medical field experience preferred
- Project rollout experience
- Strong interpersonal, analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, OneDrive, Salesforce)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, EHR, and HIPAA policies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee all aspects of the business between multiple locations within the bay area
- Prioritize work activities and evaluate effectiveness
- Maintain staff schedules and personnel records
- Handle financial records, invoices, and inventory
- Oversee research inventory and ordering
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:
- Align people and projects with initiatives
- Create sales incentives
- Value cultural diversity and foster a positive team atmosphere
- Develop staff through coaching and mentoring
- Manage employee issues and grievances
- Oversee day-to-day operations and staff management
- Conduct performance management and implement operational measurements
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners
- Liaise between research staff, projects, and sponsors
BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Understand financial management principles
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-effective approaches
- Integrate technology and marketing into office functions
- Track revenue and expenses, ensuring profitable operations
- Drive operational improvements and hold staff accountable
- Coordinate with internal and external resources
- Manage budgets, find partners and investors, and handle government contracts
