Objective:The primary objective of the Warehouse Manager is to handle daily operations of the warehouse, including freight, shipping, receiving, processing, recording and distributing supplies and materials; preparing and maintaining detailed records and files.
Roles and Responsibilities:Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and out-going shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
- Ensure that a safe working environment is always maintained and that the appropriate safety regulations and policies are complied with
- Ensure warehouse staff is working in compliance with their work instruction and process
- Accurately pick and pack a range of order types which includes: Urgent orders, branch replenishment orders, export orders
- Responsible for and controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data in ERP system
- Manage annual stock inventory
- Ensure FIFO/DIFOT is successfully achieved on a daily basis
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
- Eliminate waste in the warehouse by the way of Lean
- Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met
- Creates detailed schedule timelines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met
- Directly supervises 1-15 employees in the Warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Provide solid leadership and team building techniques to enhance and build morale and efficiency of warehouse staff
- Participate in the recruiting and hiring of Warehouse staff
- Ensure inventory shrinkage due to loss, damage, and theft is kept to an absolute minimum
- Support management team with all required reporting of data analysis and prepare reports, ready for management presentations, in clear and concise communication methods
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations
- Works within approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures; Contributes to profits and revenue
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
Role Requirements:
Educational
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and experience within a Lean/Six Sigma environment
- Experience with ERP systems such as M3, SAP, or Oracle
- Previous experience in Hydraulics preferred
- Knowledgeable with leading warehouse techniques and warehouse management tools
Certifications
- Forklift Operator Certification or willingness to obtain
