Job Description: Senior IT Internal Auditor
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time Direct-Hire
Work Set up: On-site 5 days/week
Position Overview:
The IT Auditor is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of IT audits to ensure the effectiveness of the company's internal controls. This role involves conducting risk assessments, developing audit plans, preparing detailed work papers, and communicating findings to senior management. The IT Auditor will also support external audit efforts and participate in specialized audits as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting audit objectives and planning the scope of IT audits.
- Conduct IT risk assessments and determine appropriate audit procedures.
- Prepare and review detailed work papers to support audit findings and conclusions.
- Develop formal written reports and deliver presentations to communicate audit observations and recommendations.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of corrective actions proposed or taken by management in response to audit findings.
- Communicate significant issues identified during internal audit activities to the Internal Audit VP.
- Provide support to external auditors during their audits and reviews.
- Assist the Internal Audit VP in evaluating the overall effectiveness of the company’s IT control processes and report findings to senior management.
- Plan and conduct operational and compliance audits with IT implications.
- Coordinate with external specialists for specialized audits, including but not limited to PCI-DSS and SOC 2.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- IT audit experience required, with a preference for candidates with public accounting experience, especially from a Big Four firm.
- Extensive knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) of 2002.
- CISA and/or CIA certification preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification will be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical knowledge, including proficiency in PC applications, enterprise systems, and query tools.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization.
- Experience in financial services or multi-unit environments is preferred.
- Moderate travel may be required (less than 10%).
