Our client (A dynamic and fast-growing supermarket chain) is looking for a Store Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to lead their expansion into new markets in the Philadelphia area. Join a leadership team that empowers you to make high-level decisions, oversee P&L, build a team, and take ownership of the business. How You’ll Add Value:
- Manage Profit and Loss (P&L) statements to maximize profits by increasing sales, understanding gross profit, and minimizing expenses.
- Ensure the store operates according to company standards to maximize sales and profits.
- Provide leadership to maintain excellent daily store conditions, including effective produce/meat department operations, food safety, equipment safety, and sanitation.
- Control expenses and manage company assets, including shrink control, payroll, productivity measurements, and supply ordering.
- Select, staff, coach, and develop store associates to create a positive environment for employees and customers.
- Oversee the hiring process with assistant managers, including phone screens, panel interviews, reference checks, and hiring recommendations.
- Set work priorities and direct the assignment of tasks, including product ordering, store meetings, and register key usage.
- Train, coach, and develop all associates according to company operational standards.
- Ensure excellent customer service practices are executed throughout the store and assist directly as needed.
- Maintain a clean, neat, well-stocked, and friendly store that meets company operational standards.
- Execute merchandising programs and maintain the visual presentation of merchandise, store layout, plan-o-grams, displays, price signs/tags, and COOL signage.
- Implement and comply with all company policies and procedures, including accounting, cash handling, inventory processes, loss prevention, payroll, sanitation, food safety, documentation, and communication with Human Resources.
- Acquire Food Safety Certification as required by company policies and city/state regulations.
- Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations.
- Complete other assigned duties, including store produce accountability.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Basic experience with electronic technology and communications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environments, including freezers, coolers, refrigerators, delivery trucks, and all weather conditions inside and outside the store.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
