WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are looking for someone who is excited to facilitate weekly new hire orientation, monthly customer service training, as well as other monthly classes. As the facilitator, you will work with department leaders to tailor classes for their team in order to deliver a customized and relevant training. You will also create related handouts, job aids, and training evaluations to help assess the success of the session and learning transfer.
In addition to customizing and delivering training, you will have the opportunity to own projects that resonate most with your strengths and areas you’d like to gain more experience in. These include LMS implementation and administration, technical writing/creation of “how to” guides, new hire training analysis and program design including position-specific training materials, job aids, decks, assessments, manuals, and tips for department trainers. We will encourage you to get creative by developing marketing materials to encourage participation in classes and think of fun and interesting ways to spread our company culture and reinforce the behaviors that bring our principles to life. The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for the following under direction of the Program Manager of Learning and Development:
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- As part of the Human Resources Shared services department, this position is to support operators from various industries and departments within our organization by:
- Acclimating new hires to the business and conducting weekly orientation sessions, both hybrid and in-person.
- Facilitating customer service trainings for several different audiences; continuously improve and develop new customer service trainings, activities, and materials.
- Developing and facilitating instructor-led in-person and virtual training programs for our frontline employees across various business units.
- Producing and hosting external vendor content.
- Conducting needs analysis and recommending learning interventions, as appropriate, in support of business objectives.
- Evaluating and reporting results of custom trainings to key stakeholders.
- Recommending processes and procedures that will reinforce learning and support transfer-of-training.

- Develop learning activities, handouts, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, job aids, and manuals.
- Create engaging communication materials and strategies to market elective training to employees.
- Design and deploy training evaluations.
- Assign, monitor, and manage online compliance training to ensure completion and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain updated training records, training calendar, maintain training facilities and equipment.
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple overlapping projects; Engage in self-directed work, project manage, drive deadlines and resources, and work with a high degree of initiative, attention to detail and personal responsibility.
- Stay up to date on new training methods and techniques to improve transfer of training, and overall quality, consistency, and timeliness.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by Manager and upper leadership.
As a Learning & Development Specialist, additional responsibilities include:
- Continuous improvement of New Hire Orientation content to ensure the best-in-class experience for all new hires, ensuring content is always up to date and relevant.
- Identifying proactive Yes& Vacations score intervention opportunities; partnering with leaders to execute service training that will positively influence scores and the guest experience.
- Ownership of the Yes& Culture Champion Certificate Program including continuous program promotion, responding to inquiries, approving application, obtaining leadership endorsements, tracking progress, and distributing completion certificates.
- Develop and implement creative, engaging, and interactive learning and development programs that align with the Company’s goals and objectives, with a focus on enhancing guest service and employee engagement for the Individual Contributor audience.
- Measure the impact of various learning programs to ensure the appropriate business outcome is derived. Assess opportunities for continued improvement, set goals and establish metrics for success.
- Assist to build and maintain relationships with external vendors, industry associations, and guest service experts to integrate the latest best practices and insights into training programs. Work to develop, expand and own programming such as ESL classes and GED program.
- Effectively communicate the benefits of training and development programs to team members, supervisors, and managers to encourage participation and ensure alignment with our culture and principles via routine touch points.
- Administrate the Learning Management System and Yes& Academy links in the self-service portal to ensure training materials are current, accessible, and user-friendly.
- Partner with Learning & Development leaders to continuously develop and execute relevant Frontline employee learning paths.
- With Frontline audience in mind, propose elective courses to be included in the monthly Yes& Academy class planning. Maintain Monday.com Training Session boards so proposed offerings are organized and up to date.
- Partner with other members of the Learning & Development team to assist with team upskilling and cross training.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Training experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Minimum of 2 years Corporate Learning & Development experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging learning that includes instructor led, virtual, e-learning, and on the job approaches that achieve measurable results.
- Proven understanding of adult learning principles, ability to complete needs assessment, content development, coordination of logistics, facilitation, evaluation, and record keeping.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and strong written and verbal communication skills (both oral and written) are mandatory.
- Flexibility and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to conduct training in an in-person setting or virtual environment.
- Knowledge and use of Standard English, correct grammar, and ability to edit detailed documents.
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to design aesthetically engaging and effective materials
- Advanced organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Proficient with training needs assessment, creative instructional design, and measuring outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software to include PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Articulate Rise, Adobe DC, Canva, and Camtasia.
- Experience working with training design software, authoring tools, Learning Management Systems, and other learning technologies to embed learning strategies.
- Both strategic and execution-oriented - happy to be "hands-on" in all aspects of talent development work.

- Degrees/Certifications in Instructional Design, Facilitation, IO Psychology, Communication, or Related Fields
