Among the current openings, we’re on the lookout for an aerospace engineer who will contribute deeply to the design of our next generation high-performance coaxial drones. The ideal candidate is a roll-up-your-sleeves, high energy, collaborative UAS enthusiast who works well on a team and individually. Reporting to the company’s VP of Technology, this is a newly created, full-time position based in our Wilmington, Massachusetts headquarters. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aerodynamic and Performance Analysis: Perform aerodynamic analysis of the coaxial platform and develop multi-disciplinary models for vehicle performance prediction and simulation.
- Flight Testing and Data Analysis: Plan and execute flight tests, analyze flight test data, and incorporate findings into the design cycle.
- Collaboration and Customer Support: Support customers with payload integration, collaborate with other engineering disciplines on new product development, and conduct trade-studies for new vehicle concepts.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Qualifications: Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and hold a bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
- Skills and Experience: 5+ years of post-graduate work experience in aerodynamics, propulsion, or aircraft design.Strong analytical skills, experience with first-principles aerodynamic models, low/medium-fidelity aerodynamic tools, and solving complex multi-disciplinary problems in a fast-paced environment. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus.

- Proactive Innovator: you know how to take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and drive projects forward with minimal supervision, demonstrating a keen ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in rotorcraft aerodynamics and aeromechanics. Proficiency with high-fidelity CFD solvers (Fluent, Star-CCM or equivalent). Experience with electric powertrains and open-source autopilots (ArduPilot, PX4). FAA Part 107 License.
COMPENSATION
This position is expected to include a base salary between $150K and $175K.
