We are seeking an experienced Forecasting and Demand Planner to add to our team. This role is crucial in driving demand and inventory levels, maximizing cash flows, and maintaining high sales and service levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and be the linchpin in demand planning for retail companies with complex manufacturing and sourcing operations, particularly in the textile industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for our product lines across multiple sales channels
- Manage inventory flow through various partners (Walmart, Amazon, and our warehouse) to minimize stock-outs on key sellers and new products.
- Optimize cost savings in shipping and container flow to maintain seasonal stock levels.
- Manage container flows year around to maximize our warehouse space, 3PL, WMS, and Amazon FBA/AWD and keep a predictable flow of inventory year around.
- Make cost-effective resupply decisions, understanding landed costs and international shipping complexities.
- Anticipate and manage friction points between buyers, logistics, and warehouse capacity to maintain a predictable and continuous flow.
- Collaborate with senior management to address supply chain challenges and opportunities.
- Implement and utilize forecasting tools and ERP systems to improve planning processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in demand planning, preferably in retail or e-commerce
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions (VLookup, Pivot Tables, Macros, complex formulas, statistical analysis)
- Experience with forecasting software (e.g., EG-Slim Stock; Net Stock, or similar)
- Understanding of ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and ability to set up forecasting from Excel documents
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain/present complex data clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Amazon's inventory management rules and requirements
- Knowledge of multi-channel inventory management, especially international Amazon fulfillment
- Familiarity with international trade regulations and customs procedures
- Experience with Walmart's inventory management system (WMS)
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
One or more of the following certifications: (preferred)
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Institute of Business Forecasting and Planning (IBF) Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF)
- International Society of Logistics (SOLE) Certified Professional Logistician (CPL)
