DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
AID THE SILENT
Aid the Silent, a nonprofit organization with a 9+ year history of helping deaf and hard-of-hearing, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Operations to join our team. The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving the organization’s mission by providing strategic leadership in the areas of development/fundraising, program operations, administration, and financial management. This is a new position that will report directly to the Executive Director. The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing certain day-to-day operations of the organization with significant opportunity for growth.
Control and carefully manage the 1.2 million dollar yearly budget to ensure that expenditures are tracked and organized properly as well as assist in $2,050,000 Capital Campaign.
- Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement operations strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Coordinate and direct all human resources, facilities protection, utilities and staffing for the organization in an organize, effective manner.
- Oversee the continuous improvement of all operational processes of center; supervisor yearly budgeting process, oversee implementing employee handbook, track metrics and determine KPI’s.
- Become an active part of the development team, helping create and implement fundraising strategies/campaigns, and also writing/editing proposals as needed; as assigned, this includes identifying and cultivating relationships with donors/sponsors to secure financial support.
- Manage and optimize internal processes to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency to ensure programmatic success.
- Oversee staff/programs, as assigned, and improve programmatic accountability systems, as needed, while also working with program managers to ensure coordination of initiatives.
- Implement recruitment and onboarding process for new staff; organize training for all staff, and help the Executive Director evaluate, reward, incentivize, and develop staff.
- Work closely with the finance team to manage financial reporting, audits, and compliance with relevant regulations and work to provide data for grants and reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners, as needed/assigned.
- Author and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reports for Board of Directors in an efficient and timely manner.
- Attain the position of employee advocate on board of directors due to exceptional service and communications skills; participate in monthly meetings to speak on behalf of staff in regards to decisions impacting them; provide financial updates and construct recommendations based on staff feedback and financial positions.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social or human services, business administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred
· Leadership experience in nonprofit or business administration
· Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, project management skills, and ability to meet deadlines
· Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision making as well as ability to establish organizational goals, track progress, and adjust as needed
- Willing to foster a culture of accountability and ethical conduct within the organization
