Job Summary:
Are you passionate about brewing and leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are looking for a dedicated Brewing Supervisor to oversee beer production, ensure product excellence, and drive continuous improvement. In this role, you will manage a team of brewers across multiple shifts, maintaining high-quality brewing standards, optimizing processes, and fostering a safe and collaborative work culture.
As the Brewing Supervisor, you’ll not only ensure adherence to safety and sanitation protocols, but you’ll also be responsible for monitoring brewing operations, mentoring team members, and contributing to the overall success of the production department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Safety: Lead by example and ensure the brewing team follows all safety guidelines. Address any safety incidents promptly, encourage proactive hazard identification, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with GMP, quality, and food safety procedures. Monitor brewing, filtration, and production process parameters to maintain product quality, consistency, and integrity.
- Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of brewers on multiple shifts. Provide ongoing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance, engagement, and team collaboration.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste. Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining the highest standards in quality.
- Equipment & Inventory: Oversee brewing equipment maintenance and track inventory levels to ensure efficient production with minimal downtime.
Key Metrics & Performance Indicators:
- Safety: Track Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) & Safety Hazard Observations.
- Quality: Ensure “Right First Time” production with minimal product loss.
- Efficiency: Meet attainment targets for production and blending processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Reduce blend loss and production waste through process optimization.
Key Areas of Ownership:
- Production stability and attainment for the department.
- Brewer development, particularly for night shifts.
- Implementation of brewing department initiatives and process improvements.
Influence & Collaboration:
- Influence brewing and production schedule attainment through effective leadership and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, EHSS, and Tech Services to ensure smooth operations and meet production goals.
- Play an active role in improving department safety, quality, and food safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for brewing, liquid blending, or high-speed food/beverage production.
- Proven leadership experience, with a focus on team development and mentorship.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Teams) and email; intermediate Excel skills required.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
