The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable function across Harper Brothers entities. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of invoices, adherence to company policies, and effective management of vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AP management, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the job will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage the AP team, including training, development, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage the AP aging report, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding invoices and discrepancies.
- Work closely with vendors to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate coding and approval of invoices.
- Prepare and review AP reports and metrics to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Support the VP of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting related to accounts payable.
- Handle inquiries related to accounts payable from internal and external stakeholders.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, principles, and best practices.
- Experience with AP-related financial software, preferably Viewpoint ERP.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
