Title: Help Desk Support Specialist
Pay:30-35 USD/HR on W2
Location: Wilmington, NC
Duration: 3 Months(extensions likely)
Scope of Position:
• The position will also participate in or occasionally lead projects to meet the plant's objectives, drive cost reduction efforts and participate in capacity expansion efforts.
• Assist in the management of Corning’s warehouse system, as well as coordinating between planners and ERP application engineers.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operation. Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
• Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts.
• Some after hours, on-call support may be needed.
Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, or Associate’s Degree with 2-3 years of experience
• 1-3 years in a technical role, support role or relevant experience is ideal
Desired Skills:
• Some knowledge of databases and SQL is strongly desired
• Helpdesk experience
• MS Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in production support in a manufacturing environment
• Problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to understand real needs behind operations requests
Hours and location of Work:
• Monday-Friday 8AM - 5PM
• Occasional off-hours on call
• Expected to relocate to the Wilmington, NC area
