Requirements: - Florida License

Responsibilities: - Participates in the screening, evaluation, and care of inmates in a variety of settings which includes sick call, mental health care, chronic illness clinics, the infirmary, and confinement while under the supervision of a physician and/or registered nurse.
- Provides treatment and medication administration as per physician and mid-level practitioner orders.
- Performs specific nursing tasks including vital signs, venipuncture, and IV therapy (must have phlebotomy and IV certifications).
- Provides appropriate nursing interventions in emergency situation.
- Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of care provided in the inmate's health record.
- Maintains health services records logs and assists with data entry within the scope of nursing related items.
- Maintains accountability of all controlled substances and prescription medications according to federal and state laws and organizational regulations.
- Participates in the monitoring, requisition, and documentation of the use of medical supplies and equipment.
- Provides supervision for non-licensed health care staff.
- Participates in inmate educational health programs.
- Coordinates with medical, dental, mental health, and ancillary personnel, as required, to ensure continuity of care.
- Participates in continuing education and in-service training to maintain professional capabilities and proficiency.
- Assists in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Other related duties as assigned.
