Salary: Hourly rate of $25 to $35 (based upon level of experience & specific technical skills)

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electronic Technician to join our team on a project-based basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in electronics, who is ready to contribute to our dynamic projects and help drive the success of our wind-turbine systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair electronic systems and components within wind turbine units. Identify and replace defective parts, ensuring systems operate efficiently and meet performance standards.
- Installation Support: Assist in the installation of electronic systems, including wiring, sensors, and control panels.
- Testing and Calibration: Perform tests and calibrations on electronic systems using diagnostic tools like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Fault Diagnosis: Identify and resolve malfunctions in electronic equipment, such as short circuits, voltage irregularities, and component failures.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of repairs, installations, and modifications. Prepare and submit technical reports as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and technical staff to support project goals and resolve electronic-related issues.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in electronics troubleshooting, repair, and installation. Experience with PLCs, sensors, and control systems in the renewable energy industry is preferred.
- Certification and Industry Standards: Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Certified Electronics Technician (CET), Associate Degree in Electronics, or equivalent experience) are desirable. Experience with UL, CE, and FCC standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electronic Technician, preferably with a focus on wind turbines or renewable energy technologies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to effectively diagnose and resolve electronic issues.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide clear documentation.
- Flexibility: Availability to work on a project-based schedule with variable hours as needed.
- Circuit Design and Analysis.
- Knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, etc.).
- Understanding of circuit diagrams and schematics: The ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit designs.
- Analog and digital electronics: Understanding of both analog circuits (continuous signals) and digital circuits (discrete signals).
- Soldering and Assembly Skills
- Proficiency in soldering: Ability to solder and desolder components on PCBs (printed circuit boards) and perform through-hole or surface-mount assembly.
- Component replacement: Skill in physically replacing defective components on boards.
- Microcontroller and Programmable Logic
- Basic programming: Familiarity with programming microcontrollers or programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in embedded systems.
- Firmware updating: Experience in flashing or updating firmware for electronic devices.
- Electrical Codes and Standards
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes, such as IPC standards for electronics manufacturing or the National Electrical Code (NEC).
COMPENSATION
Hourly Rate: Competitive pay based on experience and skills.
Project-Based: This is not a permanent position; work will be assigned on a project basis with hours varying depending on project needs.
