We are seeking a detail-oriented Sourcing Assistant to join our team. The Sourcing Assistant will play a critical role in providing overall support to the sourcing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and assist in negotiating prices, terms, and contracts.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of samples, materials, and finished goods.
Product Development Support:
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Assist in sourcing materials that align with design concepts, cost constraints, and quality standards.
- Track the development of samples, ensuring they meet design and quality specifications.
Cost Management:
- Assist in analyzing and comparing costs of materials and production to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Provide support in negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best possible pricing without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate records of costs and assist in budget tracking for sourcing activities.
Logistics Coordination:
- Assist in managing the logistics of shipping and receiving materials and finished goods.
- Track and follow up on orders, ensuring timely delivery
- Coordinate with the logistics team for customer needs
Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized records of all sourcing activities, including contracts, samples, and communications.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and other relevant documentation.
- Support the sourcing team with scheduling and meeting coordination as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- 1+ years’ experience in Sourcing or a similar procurement role is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in using MS Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel. PLM experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain collaborative work relationships at all levels within the organization.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
