Responsibilities
The Director of infusion Pharmacy Services provides oversight for the performance and development of infusion pharmacy services, which directly support infusion center activities and other service lines within the ACO that require sterile compounded products. The scope of these services is inclusive of but not limited to Cancer Services, in-clinic pharmacy services, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and all other specialties with sterile drug preparation needs. Oversight activities include the successful financial, clinical, and regulatory management of the businesses under the Director’s purview. The Director of Infusion Pharmacy Services works within the Kelsey Pharmacy team to optimize the delivery of overall pharmacy services through collaboration with Consumer Pharmacy Services, Integrated Pharmacy Services, and Specialty Pharmacy Services. The Director is responsible for the management of all pharmacy-related technology under their purview, including automated dispensing cabinets, inventory management systems, EMR systems, and other technologies as they are added. The Director actively analyzes and negotiates pharmaceutical contracts, pharmaceutical wholesaler contracts, medical supplies contracts, and other business-related activities to advance the triple aim, which is at the core of what Kelsey-Seybold strives for. The Director collaborates with other departments within the organization to provide pharmacy law regulatory expertise and ensure that Kelsey Pharmacy Services meets the needs of the organization.
Salary Range: $167,755 - $207,217 (Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Qualifications
Education:
Required: BS In Pharmacy
Preferred: MS in Pharmacy or PharmD
Board Certification in Sterile Compounded Products
Experience:
Required: 8-10 years of progressive management experience in a hospital, ambulatory, and/or clinical setting, including strategic planning, budget development and monitoring, and personnel management.
Strong knowledge of current trends in the infusion pharmacy area, with the ability to assess and identify opportunities to leverage pharmacy expertise to improve quality, safety, patient experience, and financial performance.
Preferred:
Large-scale project management experience
Pro forma development
Functional understanding of current trends within pharmaceutical contracting, with a particular focus on value-based care.
ACO integrated pharmacy experience
EPIC experience
License(s):
Required: Active Pharmacist license in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Valid driver’s license.
Special Skills:
Required: Advanced knowledge of regulations and requirements pertaining to sterile compounding and handling of hazardous drugs, including USP chapters 797 and 800
Advanced knowledge and understanding of Texas State Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulatory standards and participation in AAAHC or TDH surveys.
Knowledgeable of the principles of quality management and experienced in leading Performance
Improvement teams.
Preferred: C-suite-level presentation development and delivery skills. Robust analytics skills
