Analog / Mixed Signal IP Design Engineer
Business Line Description:
- Be an integral member of a highly-experienced team in R&D that is responsible for architecting and designing complex mixed-signal IP for use in advanced microcontrollers and microprocessors. The Architectures and IPs developed by this team enables a product portfolio with over four billion USD in annual revenue. Chances are that the car you drive, the intelligent devices that pervade your living space and the factories that produce the goods you use will contain one or more of the chips that you contribute to.
- We are part of MCU/MPU Engineering, a central design organization within NXP, developing products for multiple business lines in Automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), Networking, and Radio Frequency products, with expertise in hardware engineering, including architecture, IP, and full SoC Design.
Job Summary:
- Design Implementation: Design blocks as per specification, oversee and contribute to layout of the IP with best practices
- Verification: Block level simulation using schematics/extracted views, debugging block and top-level simulations, prepare technical reviews and product/block documentation
- Documentation: Detailed documentation of architecture and design choices with tradeoffs along with other required documentation
- Integration: Assist and guide chip teams with integration of the IP into the SOC.
- Validation: Perform laboratory evaluation and debug of new solutions and provide support to test and validation teams to guarantee performance in full production programs.
- Flow and methodology: Work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary R&D group by understanding and contributing to flow and methodology development
- Innovation: Develop innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secrets
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s/Bachelor’s/PhD Degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering with an emphasis in VLSI/IC design
- 3+ years of Experience in Design and Development of Mixed Signal IPs either in Bandgap Reference, and/or Power Management IPs (Inductive/Capacitive DC-DC, High/Low Power LDOs and Supply Monitors), Data Convertors (ADC/DAC), Timing References (DLL, PLL and Crystal/Free-running Oscillators)
- Strong in Analog building blocks, e.g. References, Op-Ams, active filter, other linear circuit design.
- Must have basic lab skills that allow basic validation of the analog IP.
- Must be knowledgeable in layout practices such as matching, parasitics, latchup, and ESD.
- Must have experience working with SOC integration teams and know good integration practices.
- Ability to work with a creative and innovative mind set both individually as well as in a team.
