We seek highly motivated and versatile biologists, chemists, bioengineers, and chemical engineers to join as Research Technician. Successful candidates will work closely with others on interdisciplinary research projects focusing on RNA-targeting therapeutics. Research and development efforts will include drug manufacturing and testing in relevant cellular and animal models and lead candidate optimization, analysis, and preparation. The candidate must be willing and able to learn new techniques and tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform research under the guidance of Group Leaders and others to develop therapeutic products and platforms.
- Work as a team to plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to achieve research project milestones and goals.
- Exercise good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results and when analyzing or interpreting data.
- Think critically about the project, the procedure, and milestones, and provide technical input professionally.
- Uphold Sanford Labs’ mission and values, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
- Maintain a comprehensive electronic lab notebook documenting experiments, datasets, analysis, and conclusions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related discipline) with at least 2 years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree in life science.
- A demonstrated record of achievement through coursework, publications, and presentations.
- Desired candidates should be familiar with bacterial and mammalian cell culture, PCR, recombinant DNA cloning, electrophoresis, chromatography, mass spectrometry, and other relevant laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of various standard laboratory procedures and techniques, laboratory equipment and terminology, and laboratory hazards and safety practices.
- Ability to manage efforts on multiple projects with different objectives.
- Flexibility to adjust research efforts to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office
