The Vice President of Operations role is a new position offering a rare opportunity for an ambitious and forward-thinking individual to join a successful, early stage, privately-owned business with incredible opportunity for career growth.
As VP of Operations, you will report to the CEO/Founder to aid in the next level of growth by owning planning, system and KPI development, process tracking and improvement, and team building and motivation. You will work cross-functionally across all divisions - from marketing, sales & customer service, to logistics & manufacturing, to technology advancements & integration and into franchise development - all with the focus of promoting seamless execution of our business strategies to support scalability. Headquarters are in Las Vegas, NV along with our leadership team and manufacturing division, and so our ideal candidate will live local to Vegas and be open to a hybrid schedule, with a flexible mix of on-site (southwest side of Vegas) and remote workdays.
Key Responsibilities:
This position interacts with every facet of the company and so requires someone with a broad background to integrate smoothly into every department to infuse operational excellence. This role will cover all the essential functions listed below, plus some additional needs as the business develops. This role requires someone who can see where there are gaps and take action to close them. Most importantly, this role will be diverse (and fun!) and will evolve as your input, insights, and strengths are integrated.
- Lead and streamline planning, KPI development and tracking, financial flow & budgeting systems, SOP development, reporting and process improvement for the company
- Review, revise, and update operational/administrative policies & procedures, from implementation to adherence, to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Help manage and streamline logistics operations to ensure efficient supply chain management and timely delivery of trucks, products, and technicians
- Assist manufacturing leaders in managing inventory, supplies and parts distribution to support service operations for customers and franchisees
- Provide strategic leadership and support to franchise operations in connection with corporate, manufacturing and marketing teams
- Assist in creation of SOPs, training materials, reporting tools and other records to support franchisees with smooth establishment, operations, performance and profitability
- Evaluate and recommend cost-effective software, vetting new products and leading the implementation within specific deadlines
- Collaborate with CEO/Technology team to evaluate updates needed to internal software
- Establish vendor selection & onboarding process. Help manage associated contracts/agreements, renewals and negotiations
- Oversight of marketing operations, lead generation strategies and a 3rd party marketing team with potential to grow marketing team internally
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the Operations department and with various dotted line reports across divisions to support resource allocation, time/performance management, training and development
- Assist with HR Operations to include analysis of staffing needs related to budget and growth projections, maintaining organizational charts, and ensuring compliance & safety requirements are met
Requirements:
- 8-12+ years progressive experience in Business Operations role, ideally within a service-oriented company.
- 5-8+ years of operational leadership experience including team management and training. A plus would be experience building out an Operations department for an early stage company that scaled significantly during your tenure.
- Proven experience in logistics, manufacturing, and franchise operations is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; MBA and/or PM/PI certifications a plus.
- Experience within a technology company or supporting an internal proprietary software is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort presenting data to leadership for decision making.
- Ability to insightfully examine the status quo, analyze opportunities for improvement, creatively generate solutions, and demonstrate the grit to realize the change.
- Change management: Ability to keep multiple stakeholders, division leaders and employees informed and aligned as new processes, systems and workflows are rolled out
- Best practices: Experience establishing systems & workflow to support growth
- Working with Urgency: Must be a self-starter, independently motivated, assertive, and efficient with time management to continuously prioritize initiatives.
- Flexibility: Multi-tasking skills with the ability to “change gears” at short notice.
