Our customer, an American public utility company, is looking for a Senior Counsel-Ethics and Investigations. This will be hybrid role in San Diego, CA with 3 days per week onsite.
What You’ll Do:
- Provides end-to-end advice and counsel to investigators, human resources, and labor relations groups on the company’s Ethics & Compliance Helpline investigations.
- Reviews and provides advice and counsel on investigation reports.
- Assists in planning, development, and delivery of training to teams of investigators across the family of companies.
- Collaborates with other investigations teams within the company's family on investigation support, Helpline trends, and program improvements.
- Conducts complex internal investigations.
- Assists in the administration of the company’s Ethics & Compliance Helpline.
- Assists in the preparation of presentations and updates on the company’s Ethics & Compliance Helpline to leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) or a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- 8 years of experience practicing law, with a specialization in litigation and/or labor and employment law.
- Significant experience in advising on and conducting workplace investigations.
Nice to have:
- Experience within the utility industry.
- In-house experience in legal, ethics and compliance, resources, and/or audit departments.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
