The Asset Operations Specialist II will support and manage the lifecycle asset inventory of Client's rapidly growing Global Content Delivery Network (CDN). This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to work across multiple time
zones and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in fast-paced environments,
preferably in the Telco/Infrastructure field, and possess a solid understanding of managing external vendors and data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lifecycle Asset Management
- Own the lifecycle management of Edge CDN fleet assets.
- Serve as the primary support and escalation point for server, network, circuit, hardware, and logical documentation and operational matters.
- Perform asset operations for additions, decommissions, RMAs, migrations, and database entries.
- Validate the submission of firm demand ordering and track shipment/delivery/acceptance processes.
- Oversee the decommissioning and accountability of equipment.
- Provide warranty/RMA support.
- Manage warehouse/Virtual Manufacturer Inventory (VMI) responsibilities.
- Support auditing processes, conduct cycle counts, manage spares/inventory, and ensure adherence to financial and compliance standards.
Stakeholder Interaction
- Act as the initial point of contact for vendor queries regarding shipments, access, and communications.
- Create colocation inbound/outbound shipments and track deliveries.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Planning to update and add equipment into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Liaise between internal and external teams for hardware, circuit, and asset-related queries.
- Serve as the escalation point for supply chain operational matters and maintain regular cadence with external and internal teams.
- Utilize different asset management tools and software effectively.
- Perform regular audits for all site portals, inventory, and vendor-performed hours.
- Schedule and oversee vendors for Equipment Removal and Disposal (ERAD) for reverse logistics.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for all vendors.
Data Entry and Accuracy
- Maintain data integrity across multiple systems, identify root causes of data inconsistencies, and resolve them.
- Improve policies, standards, processes, and workflows to support operational requirements.
- Develop and implement an inventory database improvement strategy:
- Maintain a healthy spares inventory database.
- Create a plan to ensure an adequate amount of spares at each site/warehouse and trigger requests for additional spares when thresholds are reached.
- Raise site and vendor remote hands to perform site audits when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Candidates should have min 2-3 years experience in IT Asset life cycle management
- Experience in asset management, supply chain management, or related fields.
- Prior experience in the Telco/Infrastructure sector is preferred.
- Strong project management skills and experience managing external vendors and data centers.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders across different time zones.
- Familiarity with Data Center facilities and operations.
- Proficiency in using asset management tools and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to improve processes and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range
$72,000.00 - $90,000.00 USD (Salary)
