Project Manager
Overview: This position is responsible for the effective development and management of project timelines, product development, and product quoting. You will learn and manage cross-functional responsibilities throughout this fast paced, product development cycle in a health supplement manufacturing environment.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate a commitment to Capstone policy deployment and C.A.R.E model (Communication, Appreciation, Relationships, and Execution)
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and produce new products for customers.
- Lead communication with customer on new projects.
- Responsible for managing project timelines from initiation to shipping including:
* Formula approval
*Bill of material creation
*Quoting
* Material lead times and purchase orders
*Manufacturing schedule
*Logistics
- Communicate clearly and concisely with customers and Capstone leadership regarding project statuses and constraints.
- Create power point presentation for project kickoffs.
- Assist with product specification creation for raw materials, packaging components, bulk products, and finished products. Work with Document Control to initiate new SKU packaging specifications.
- Be proactive in learning internal processes, software, and manufacturing best practices.
- Attend and support internal meetings/huddles.
- Customer advocate for both internal and external customer. Relationship management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist with solutions to problematic formulations of existing products, as needed.
- Assist with deviation investigation and generation as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA preferred but no required. PMP preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the Natural Products Industry.
- Project Management experience beneficial.
- Adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel, Word, and Project.
- Strong computer skills in MRP system, internet, and email mandatory.
- Ability to perform all tasks defined above.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Must be familiar with cGMP’s.
- Must possess the ability to develop and maintain a teamwork environment.
- Ability to move about to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to write and prepare business letters, memorandums, and reports.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand, stoop, reach and crouch.
Internal Promotion Requirements
- 5+ years in project management or demonstration of exceptional understanding of internal processes equivalent to 5 years of internal experience in sales.
- Able to independently create all new SKUs without oversight.
- Able to effectively lead meetings, teams, and manage customer expectations.
- Leads training/onboarding new office employees.
- Manages mostly high touch customers.
- Ability to understand quotes, how the margins are set, and the dollar amount preferred per hour per line.
- Ability to handle customer accounts with minimal VP support.
- Demonstrates the Serving With C.A.R.E. model in their interactions. Promotes a positive and inclusive work culture.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
- Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection, and all personnel protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, powders, dust, and other particles including allergens.
